The Dutchess County "Prayer Wall"
Starting in February 2006, Pray Dutchess
began a 24-hour
prayer vigil (or a Prayer Wall) for revival. "I have posted watchmen
on
your walls,
O Jerusalem; they will never be
silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest"
(Isaiah 62:6).
How many people will it take?
It
takes approximately
350 people to complete the Wall,
praying round-the-clock in weekly 30-minute increments from the comfort of
their home or church. "But when you pray, go into your room, close the
door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees
what is done in secret, will reward you" (Matthew 6:6).
Those who stand with as watchmen on the
Wall will commit to pray for 30
minutes once a week. We'll offer some guidelines on what to
pray
for. You might consider:
- signing up to pray by yourself
- signing up to pray along with a
prayer partner
- signing your prayer group up for a
timeslot
What about all those open timeslots?
We
will have many gaps in the wall at the outset, but the Lord has told
us He is drawing others to us. We believe He will fill each timeslot
with praying believers from other Christ-based churches around the area.
How to sign up
Please
consult the Lord in
prayer prior to requesting a weekly timeslot. If He's definitely
calling you to this, please follow the instructions along the right-hand side of
this page. We will ask you to take our basic
intercession training prior to starting. And we encourage you to
talk to your pastor about it. If you have any questions or concerns,
please don't hesitate to contact us using the e-mail address below.
